I swear, I'm alive in here somewhere

It’s a good thing I am not in school anymore or I totally would’ve failed this whole blogging thing. Oh wait, you’re not supposed to talk about how you’re not blogging or having blogged in a long time. That’s some sort of big time blogger no-no. Oh wait. I’m not a big time blogger, so screw it!

I actually started writing a post about what I’ve been up to in the past month or so, but I’ve got 5 kids and they want my attention and they are too damn cute to say no to. I thought about doing the quick and dirty bullet list, but so much happened that would make a bullet list start looking like long paragraphs about ending up in the hospital yet again and how James keeps mentioning we should get a lawyer every time I go in for another doctor’s appointment only to find something else wrong.

So, yes, a lot has happened and it hasn’t all been good. Right now I am hooked up to a machine that is sucking on an open wound on my stomach. I obtained this lovely hardware after the doctor finally took me seriously and said that I had an infection. The hole is closing, slowly. I grossed me out, but not enough to look into the hole on Saturday night when James and I had a date in the ER.

There is another complication that is currently forming, on that has the doctors scratching their heads. Only 1 criteria in the list for infection has popped up and Emma worries I will end up spending time in the hospital each time I go to visit the doctor. Hell, I have the same worries.

I didn’t really want to post about all of this because I don’t want this turning into a woe is me sort of blog. I’ve lived my life like that for too long and am trying to turn into the optimistic pessimist. One step at a time, right?

Once again the children have invaded and my time on the computer has come to an end. Lauren is sitting on my lap trying to teach herself how to type while Megan cries upstairs. Abby wants to know what I am typing and who is who on my Facebook page (totally addictive, btw. just wish I had more time for it .. more time to catch up with long lost friends.) The kids are all great and I’ll have to post about my growing triplets soon. Colds have broken into the house and we’re all sniffling and sneezing. Oh the many gifts of the holidays.

I am going to kiss the kids goodnight and catch the last half hour of American Idol. If I was daring I’d break out the pint of ice cream that’s been waiting for me since before this hole mess began.

  • He was up until 2am this morning wrapping other gifts. I opened mine at his parents’ place. The photo geek in me is in awe with shaky hands. #

  • So, have a Merry Christmas! Health-wise I am doing OK. Not quite great, but OK. Must charge camera batteries. Wee!! #
