And the results are …

If you haven’t figured it out yet I’m here to tell you; I am a procrastinator. Each morning I start out with the best intentions of writing a post about our trip to Minneapolis to check out these babies growing in ma belly. As the day wears on I find myself constantly distracted by Abby, Emma, James, other blogs, Twitter, eating, pets, or that shiny object over there. Before I know it James has fallen asleep and I am barely awake myself. Post not posted. Fail.

This isn’t a post about me beating myself up, this is a post about the hair that covers my stomach. Er. No, it’s not about that either but can I just take a moment and give a big WTF to the hair growing on my belly?! It’s also not about my “baby crack” aka the scar that runs from my pubic area to my belly button. Abby came running into the bathroom this morning after I turned off the shower to hand me my towel. I don’t know where she picked up the habit, but if you grab for the towel before she can hand it to you she is completely heartbroken. As I was drying off this morning she pointed to my belly and told me that I have a “baby crack” and started laughing. Quite appropriate I suppose, much better than proclaiming that “Daddy has a HAIRY BUTT!!” in front of the in-laws yesterday.

See? Distracted easily.

Finally, on to what you all came here for: the ultrasound results. Luckily, my uterus hasn’t been watching American Idol and didn’t kick one of the contestants off the show. All 3 babies were in there kicking and wiggling as they should be. I learned that I have Baby B and C mixed up in my drawing, though. I also learned that I am feeling both of them because they are facing each other “playing footsie” as the tech put it. Baby A is still cradled down at the bottom missing most of the action.

They are all measuring right on track and are 12 ounces a piece. Half a six pack. As close as I’ll ever get to having a 6 pack on my stomach. One of them (I don’t have the ultrasound pictures up here at the moment) yawned while we were staring at it’s face. Or it was screaming because it’s sick of being kicked by the other one. Either way, it was cool to see.

We also learned that we are having 3 girls. I now need to come up with a bunch of girl names. I was sure there was at least ONE boy in there and had 3 solid boy names picked out. I teased James on the way home that we still had one last shot left and that we could always try for a boy once these girls are born. His response? A firm “OH HELL NO!” It was pretty funny to see his face turn completely white though.
